These accounts of encounters with psychotic subjects represent the difficult, always risky challenge of articulating theory from clinical practice. The presenting symptomatology, from the most discreet to the most exuberant, far from manifesting a deficit, expresses an original creative effort that the psychoanalyst must support to facilitate its outcome. Allowing oneself to be permeated by the "touch of the real," unique for each individual, should make it possible to better understand theoretical notions and assess their relevance. We have preferred to highlight their adequacy to the patient's words as they emerge, on a case-by-case basis, rather than gathering them into an abstract corpus.
