Novelist, poet, and children's author, Jean Joubert won the 1975 Prix Renaudot for L'Homme de sable (Grasset), the Prix de l'Académie Mallarmé for Les Poèmes: 1955-1975 (Grasset), and the Prix de la Fondation de France for Les Enfants de Noé (L'Ecole des loisirs). He lives near Montpellier. At Actes Sud, he published a novel, Une Embellie (1996), and an Anthologie personnelle (1997).
