Following the success of La Dernière Leçon, Noëlle Châtelet became very strongly involved in the cause of voluntary death and end-of-life assistance. The book she presents here is a daily and monthly reflection, punctuated by current events on the subject (the Vincent Lambert case, and other reports as they unfolded) but also and above all by the different stages of the preparation of the film based on La Dernière Leçon: for adapting the book to the screen is a bit like bringing her mother back to life, and at the same time experiencing a form of dispossession.
