In a series of micro-chapters, like a multitude of sequences, each more surreal than the last, and yet all too real, the author paints a picture of the care, to say the least deficient, for women victims of violence, and the most outrageous of these: rape. This struggle, which is a vital one, must ultimately lead to healing through speech... so poorly heard. Because it is not enough to be raped, robbed, assaulted; one must also face the negligence and inconsistency of institutions.
A moving testimony from a strong woman who denounces the difficulties a victim faces in being heard, protected, and supported by law enforcement and the justice system after a rape committed by neighbors who are still at large... and who are not new to such offenses.
So that fear and guilt change sides!
