Two men board La Trochita, an antediluvian train that slowly travels through Argentine Patagonia. Haroldo, a former sailor who claims to be a descendant of Butch Cassidy, has drawn his childhood friend Genaro, a former subway driver, into a risky adventure: taking the train's passengers hostage to free Beto, Haroldo's brother, who is a prisoner in transit. In addition, the two companions intend to take advantage of the opportunity to get their hands on the bags of money in one of the cars. Of course, nothing goes as planned, and the journey turns into a surreal odyssey.
