"Am I mad, or is the devil, with his most subtle wiles, playing tricks on me?" Such is the question that obsesses most heroes of fantastic tales. This is the case here, whether it's Poe's The Tell-Tale Heart, Gautier's Two Actors for a Role, Maupassant's The Night, or Gogol's Nevsky Prospect.

In this collection, students will learn to better understand the particularity of the fantastic genre, by discovering the constraints and pleasures of the short form.
