Radio host Nadia Guerra, suspended from the airwaves, receives a scholarship to Paris, but art is not her only motivation; she also sets out in search of her mother, Albis Torres. She eventually finds her in Moscow. While going through her belongings, she discovers a diary her mother kept in Cuba on the eve of the Revolution, a crucial period, in which she notably paints a portrait of the revolutionary hero Celia Sánchez. Mother Cuba, in the vein of Everyone Leaves, immerses us in the heart of a generation that carries a revolutionary legacy as heavy as it is fascinating, laying bare the memory of the entire Cuban nation.
