Medea is ready to betray her father, king of Colchis, to follow the handsome Jason, with whom she has fallen in love.

The young man must accomplish a perilous mission: to retrieve the Golden Fleece, fiercely guarded by the sovereign. Medea, with her magical powers, helps him as best she can to overcome the various trials imposed by her father, encouraged by Jason's promise to then take her as his wife. But the young man, recalled by his royal duties, can no longer keep his word, provoking the terrible wrath of the princess.
