Eugénio de Andrade is currently the most popular poet in Portugal and, after Pessoa, the most translated in the world. He is also one of those who managed to assert his singularity by crossing the "Pessoa galaxy" without remaining dependent on this fabulous field of mental attraction. To the vicissitudes, dramas, and terrors of identity and lack of being, he substituted the evidence of desire. He invented a language of the body, musical and ascetic, sensual and crystalline, which conveys, instant after instant, his way of being in the world.
