Broken by his wife's suicide, Elijah Pilgrim, a painter suffering from a lack of inspiration, receives an unsettling letter from an old friend inviting him to join him in Madrocks, a distant, isolated town in the heart of a mountain valley. There, he meets a gallery of characters who have witnessed, sometimes been victims of, supernatural phenomena. What was supposed to be a simple stay gradually transforms into a disturbing dive into a place where dreams merge with reality, where reflections seem to observe those who gaze upon them, and where an ancient presence appears to influence the inhabitants.
