Men are like Tom Thumbs. And ogres too, "beer-drinking, authoritarian loudmouths" who armour their hearts and dream of conquests, rarely of love. And when they do love, it's with a murderous sentiment that shrinks, subjugates, and ravages through an overly mundane daily life. But ultimately, who are the more dangerous? These men who think they are ogres but are only Tom Thumbs, or these women whom disillusionment makes ruthless, executioners in turn so as not to give up. Much killing happens here, bloody murders or insidious small deaths. Knives, words, denials, indifference are used. People kill out of habit, out of weariness, out of rage or anger. Out of love too. Fairies are cruel, princes are lost, and shepherdesses are cannibal ogresses.
