Guinea-Bissau, 2012. A guitarist in a famous band from the late 1970s, Couto now lives by his wits. As a coup d'état brews, he learns of the death of Dulce, the band's singer, who was also his first love. Evening falls on the capital, the streets buzz with activity, Couto walks, going from bar to terrace, from one friend to another. In his thoughts, thirty years flash by, memories of a beloved woman, of the guerrilla war against the Portuguese, but also of the heyday of a band that played new music around the world, carried by the momentum and pride of a nation. In the heart of the city where men and women continue to go about their business, indifferent to the first gunshots, Couto and other former band members have a rendezvous: it's concert night at the Chiringuitó.
