Scapin the Schemer, Molière

Scapin, the Italian valet, is deceitful. He is a liar, a thief, a hypocrite, and perfidious. But, in his own way, he is also faithful and courageous. He constantly fights against the injustices of his time, such as those that prevent lovers from marrying freely. This is why his young masters entrust him with their love affairs, and why he commits to helping them. And when Scapin gives his word, the action escalates.
