"I didn't want to write a singer's memoirs, recounting the good and bad times of his career or the details of his private life. My intention was to portray, in a few snapshots, my childhood, my difficult beginnings or the women in my life, and to dedicate most of the book to unusual, humorous, sometimes dramatic moments, in which I am not necessarily the main protagonist."
