Used book – Le Pavillon des enfants fous, Valérie Valère

At thirteen, Valérie Valère was admitted to the children's psychiatric ward of a major Parisian hospital. At fifteen, she wrote an account of her stay. Her book is not only a vision of the hospital world, of treatments for the mentally ill, the pathetic cry of a thirteen-year-old girl who, one day, refused all food: she becomes aware of the deep reasons that led her to the suicidal behavior that is anorexia. And her story is above all a story of healing.
