In the deserted street of a war-torn city, Marie collapses, hit by a bullet as she was about to join Steph. Their reunion was meant to seal their reconciliation and the confession of a shared love. Fighting against death, the young woman now only wishes for one thing: to send a message to Steph to tell him that she was coming and that she loves him. With dry and burning prose, Andrée Chedid recounts Marie's agony and denounces the absurdity of war, which makes bodies groan and separates lovers. In the edition's dossier: an interview with Andrée Chedid and some of her most beautiful poems against war.
