A woman dreamed of leaving. Of setting sail. In Kodiak, Alaska, she finds a spot aboard one of those boats that fish for black cod, crab, and halibut. She endures the constant dampness, the fatigue, the fear, the injuries... And then there are the men. On land, she shares their lives, as a comrade. While waiting to re-embark. That's when she meets the Great Sailor.
Catherine Poulain began traveling at a very young age. She fished for ten years in Alaska. Today, she lives between the Alpes de Haute-Provence and the Médoc, where she works as a shepherdess and a vineyard worker, respectively. Le Grand Marin is her first novel.
