On the outskirts of a peaceful Languedoc village, Marcel Montségur, a widowed farmer withdrawn into his glorious past as a rebellious winemaker, lives in the countryside with six red hens and Troumpéto, a punctual and conscientious rooster.
This serene and uneventful existence is about to be brutally disrupted by the construction of a private housing development, Le Soleil d'Occitanie.
Two worlds, that of the natives and that of the newcomers, will then coexist without meeting, before clashing over Troumpéto, whose crowing, as resounding as it is early, exasperates the owners of the neighboring houses.
Through this news item, unfortunately drawn from reality, Jean-Pierre Grotti describes with a touch of nostalgia and much sensitivity the loss of identity and savoir-vivre in all the villages of France, Navarre, and Occitania, overwhelmed by the inexorable influx of city dwellers.
