In 14th-century mythical medieval Japan, young Takeo grows up in a peaceful community that condemns violence. But it is massacred by the men of Iida, leader of the Tohan clan. Takeo, saved by Lord Shigeru of the Otori Clan, finds himself plunged into the heart of bloody struggles between warlords.
He must follow his destiny. But who is he? Peasant, lord or assassin? Where do his prodigious gifts come from?
