The Bourgeois Gentleman, Molière

Monsieur Jourdain is a wealthy but foolish bourgeois. His dearest wish is to become a gentleman. To achieve this, he tries by all means to acquire the good manners of high society, and courts a marquise. He also wants his daughter to marry a nobleman, even though she loves an honorable man who is not a gentleman. Will the tyrannical father succeed in getting his way? Will the bourgeois manage to buy everything, even a woman's heart? Will the cunning of the servants overcome the obstinacy of the master of the house?...
