"The truth is, you have to read to truly know the world, because people who write always start from a detail that's amiss." Alba Donati led a frantic life. Yet, in her fifties, she decided to leave everything behind to fulfill her dream: opening a bookstore in Tuscany, in her childhood village. The venture quickly seemed doomed to failure. Perched on a hill, with fewer than two hundred inhabitants in the vicinity, the bookstore had to face a devastating fire, then lockdown restrictions. But just when all seemed lost, an astonishing and wonderful movement of solidarity organized around Alba.
