In Los Yesares, in the province of Valencia, fifty-year-old Sunta is getting married. She has decided, before changing her life, to record in a school notebook the memories of her existence in this village where "only idleness and years remain to live". Through Sunta's clumsy and touching pen, we discover the daily lives of the villagers during a painful period rooted in the triumphant Francoism after the Spanish Civil War. Whether events are seen through the innocent eyes of a child or the nostalgia of the adult Sunta has become, what matters is to revive, through the magic of memory and writing, the beings who participated in a story that was both personal and collective, and then inexorably disappeared from it.
