The Repaired Soul: An Introduction to the Spirit of Judaism, Bernard Hadjadj, Fabrice Hadjadj

Beyond ready-made images or external religious practices alone, how can one deeply grasp the spirit of Judaism, its very essence? How can one understand this tradition that is both firmly rooted in the text of the Torah and unfolds in the often discordant polyphony of the Talmud, Midrash, and Kabbalah? For Bernard Hadjadj, its fundamental aim is to "repair" a human soul wounded and estranged from its God, not to "subdue" it, but to restore it to its responsibility. Moses' legacy bears witness to this movement of liberation towards a freedom assumed as a mission for all creation. Moses is not only the pioneer of the Exodus from Egypt, he is also the guide through the ordeal in the desert and the midwife of the people of Israel to the fidelity of the Law, despite their numerous rebellions. Always alive, the spirit of Judaism invites us to positively deepen the relationship between God's gift and human autonomy, the sense of justice and openness to life.
