Days fly by, how can we grasp them? On the slippery surface of current events, the insignificant and the momentous mingle, sometimes indistinguishable at the time: people, things, moods, fleeting impressions, ephemeral emotions, the color of the times... The year 1993 was rich in events that gave it its particular character. This journal does not claim to synthesize them; quite the opposite. It is a series of snapshots that I endeavored to take every day, honestly, and in which I only hope to have reflected the movement of life as I perceived it, as a privileged Parisian, yet attentive to the tumult of things beneath their surface foam.
