Which, Rome or Alba, will dominate the other? A single combat will decide: three Romans, the Horatii, will fight three Albans, the Curiatii. But the family and romantic ties between the adversaries will make the situation eminently tragic. And when Rome triumphs thanks to its champion, it is at the cost of sacrifice and death all around.
