Current events from the last three or four years are a determining factor in general knowledge tests, particularly in the context of various civil service competitive exams, business schools, and IEPs (Instituts d'Études Politiques). This knowledge of current events is a prerequisite given that topics are chosen precisely because they are "current," which doesn't mean that simply reciting very recent events is enough to succeed in the test. While reading the press should enable candidates to easily mention these events, placing them in a multi-year perspective is often more difficult. It always involves relying on precise knowledge of current events while highlighting their political, historical, economic, philosophical, and other implications.
This book is intended for all those who wish to prepare for administrative competitive exams for categories A and B of the civil service, as well as for students attending preparatory classes for grandes écoles or institutes of political studies.
