The idea for this manifesto-book was born from a simple conviction: the environment still does not have the place it should have in French political life. It does not have it among political leaders, who continue to treat it marginally. Nor does it have it among citizen-consumers: they only wake up during ecological catastrophes, only to fall back asleep shortly after, once the alert has passed. Their nonchalance obviously reinforces the inaction of politicians.

That is why this Manifesto is addressed as much to voters as to election candidates and future elected officials, to firmly challenge them on the place they will give - or not - to an environmental policy and on the directions they intend to give it. Ideas are not lacking, as shown by the ten chapters devoted to today's "emergencies."

The list of ecological disasters and their victims over the last twenty years would be long. And I fear that in the future, if we do not make more efforts, the degradation of our environment will cause other serious disappointments. Would it not be appropriate to finally face the risks to our Earth, those in France and those in the world, so as not to always arrive too late, after the catastrophes?
