To Choose to Love: 1915-2005, Brother Roger of Taizé

Brother Roger entered into eternal life on August 16, 2005. The Taizé Community has published these pages as a witness of its infinite gratitude for the devoted life of its founder. This book shows what Brother Roger's main inspirations were and how he put them into practice throughout the history of the community. It includes some excerpts from his books and letters, as well as extracts from a long interview recorded in 1992 but never published. Each of these texts is echoed by testimonies selected from among the thousands of messages of condolence received at Taizé. "Choose to Love" is the title Brother Roger intended to give to an unfinished book he was preparing during the last weeks of his life. Some of the texts he had gathered for this book are also published here.
