Used book – Stop despising the French!: FOR A SOCIETY OF RECOGNITION, Hervé Morin

For three and a half years, I was involved in the government. I passionately loved and served the Ministry of Defense. But the time spent at the heart of the government machine often made my head spin, giving me the impression of a great waste. I became convinced that it was time to bring about a more balanced democracy. On the eve of the 2012 presidential election, let us accept to see France as it is: diverse, tired, ambitious, discouraged, idealistic, corporatist, tolerant, reactionary, innovative. Far from being frightening, these contradictions should stimulate and nourish a political project. To explain to our fellow citizens what France has become, what challenges it faces, what our new frontiers are and how to reach them. A discourse of truth, in contrast to all the dangerous debates exhumed in recent months, the repeated stigmatization of scapegoats, the evocation of useless nostalgias. We must invent new paths where man regains first place. A more sober power. A more federal Europe. A more solidarity-based economy.
