Anna Maria tells a story, both joyful and serious, of mother and child. A story rooted in the reality of another era, yet timeless, alternately a duet and a duel: a soprano voice – the mother – a little weary, pained, but cheerful, questions, scolds, comforts, forgives, falls silent. A tenor voice – the son – mischievous, still fragile, answers, protests, seduces, gets carried away, kills a little in passing, apologizes, and leaves, alone, more confident, more mature. His name is Wolfgang Amadeus. Her name is Anna Maria. Anna Maria Mozart. Two beings, often complicit, with the same way of being free, of defying the law of the father, of society, while submitting to it, forced to. Leopold decides that Wolfgang must go to Paris: he goes, although he dreams of Italy. Leopold decides that Anna Maria must accompany her son: she leaves Salzburg reluctantly; she only knows a few words of French. In Paris, she spends the spring and summer counting money, stitches, days; writing, waiting for her son, always away, absorbed by his music, this son intoxicated by the father's absence... and also by a first great love
